we're seeing the people of west africa, primarily peoples of former french colonies rise up en mass, we have seen popular military coups in burkina faso, niger, mali, and most recently in gabon. this has extreme downstream effects across the global south and in the current power dynamics of the world. these former colonies attempting breaking the chains from western capital, more specifically french neocolonialism is a sign that the global south has had enough. although its important to recognize we live in a world of warring imperialist powers, china/usa/eu/russia, etc, no ones hands are completely clean, yet this is a beacon of hope for the weakening of western influence across the global south. what are your thoughts breadheads

Good point, Derek!
Though I will say, my family and I spent some time in Burkina Faso two summers ago and really enjoyed ourselves. It would be shame to see that region to go the way of Ukraine (Slava ukraini!!!) China is scary but it doesn't mean my fellow Burkinabe should let go of their freedoms!
