Palestine: The chronicles of blood

The continuous struggle of an entire people against the occupation, blockade, killings and imprisonments by the state of Israel and its allies, NATO - USA - EU.

Palestine stretches from the border of Egypt to the border of Lebanon and east to the Jordan River. At the beginning of the 20th century, the majority of its inhabitants are Arabs, who have lived in the area for centuries (6th century AD), while the Jewish population is less than 10%.

1947

The division of Palestine is decided by the UN. Palestinians receive 48% of historic Palestine, Jerusalem comes under international control. The Arabs oppose the proposal, and as troops mass around the Jewish settlements, Ben Gurion (Israel's first prime minister) declares Israel's independence in 1948. The first Arab-Israeli war ensues. The Israelis win and about 750,000 Palestinians are forced to become refugees.

1948

On May 14, 1948, the establishment of Israel was announced, while the Jewish paramilitary organization "Haganah" (active since 1921) assumed the role of a regular army with British and American equipment.

A day later, troops from Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Iraq clash with Israeli forces.

Israel forcibly expels approximately 800,000 Palestinians (67% of the population) from Palestine.

1949

The UN passed a resolution affirming the right of Palestinians to return to their ancestral land. Israel rejects it and to this day refuses to recognize the rights of hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refugees.

1967

The "Six Day War" takes place, where Israel manages to increase its occupation of Palestinian land, which now included East Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, the Syrian Golan Heights and the Egyptian Sinai Peninsula.

1980

Israel declares the "undivided" Jerusalem as its capital in flagrant disregard of UN resolutions.

1987

The first Palestinian Intifada ("Uprising") against the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip begins, with over 1,400 Palestinians dead.

1996

Israeli occupation forces proceed to massacre several hundred Palestinians in the refugee camp of Qana, Lebanon.

2002

The second "Intifada" takes place. In the spring of 2002 Israel launches an attack and begins the construction of a wall in and around the West Bank. Today this wall of shame is 708 km long.

2017

The American President, Donald Trump, recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

2021

248 Palestinians were killed, among them 66 children, over 1,500 were injured.

2023
